Rod Fergusson, Diablo General Manager said, “This is a moment that the Diablo IV team has been working towards for years. We take great pride in offering players the deepest story ever told in a Diablo game. Players have a range of options, including customizing their character, arming them with personalized abilities to battle terrifying demons, or collecting legendary loot to support their playstyle and discover new ones. Since the game was first announced in 2019, the support of millions of players around the world has driven us to this release of our dark vision of Sanctuary. Hail Lilith, blessed mother.”
“Our vision at Blizzard is to create legendary experiences for everyone, and Diablo IV is an incredible realization of that vision. With highly customizable gameplay, an immersive story, and plenty of options for engaging with the world, this masterfully crafted expression of the Diablo universe is an outstanding example of what our talented development teams are capable of. Whether you’re a veteran of the series or new to Sanctuary, we welcome players to the global launch of Diablo IV,” said Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment.
About Diablo IV
Set 50 years after the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Diablo IV begins with the summoning of Lilith, the daughter of hatred, back to the mortal realm of Sanctuary. The lands have been ravaged by terrifying creatures, and only the bravest of souls will be able to brave the impending chaos.
Players can tailor their gameplay in a direction they like, experimenting with skill trees to showcase complementary spells and abilities as they fight to bring Sanctuary back to its citizens.
Diablo IV features an expansive overworld that players can explore as one of five classes of their choice – the shapeshifting druid, the swift rogue, the elemental wizard, the brutal barbarian, and the ritualistic necromancer. There is no golden path; players choose how to advance, whether to laser-focus on Lilith or explore the dark corners of each region while honing their abilities.
The land of Sanctuary is diverse with diverse biomes and demonic beasts, and players will test their mettle across five regions, over 120 dungeons, and dozens of side quests as they face world bosses and plagued strongholds in a shared and cooperative open world exorcise.
But that is not all. After completing the main story, players can explore robust end-game activities to further their adventures and become even more powerful. From the grueling and regularly recurring Helltide to the demonically challenging Nightmare Dungeons, there are plenty of ways for players to take advantage of the updated Paragon board system and further customize their adventures.
There’s also Whispers of the Dead, which grant legendary rewards for select bounties in the world, and the Fields of Hate, where you can fight other players and gain PvP glory. Additionally, players can stay immersed in the happenings of Sanctuary with the regular release of seasons and expansions that offer new gameplay features, questlines, characters, challenges, and legendary loot.
