With Pikmin, Nintendo delivered a new IP for the launch of the Gamecube, which was enthusiastic at the time. Captain Olimar, stranded on the planet, befriended the eponymous creature, which wasn’t just friendship. Basically, the title was a hard-hitting puzzler with a deadly time limit. This has been defused a bit in the following parts, but it hasn’t lost any of its charm. And that’s a good thing, because Pikmin 4 will be released this summer. The Pikmin are back and embarking on a grand adventure in Pikmin 4 for Nintendo Switch! These tiny plant-like creatures inhabit a mysterious planet. Grow them, pluck them out of the ground and give them orders as you explore the planet with their help. Pikmin come in all different sizes, colors and shapes! Red Pikmin remain calm even in fiery embers, Blue Pikmin feel at home in water, and the newly discovered Ice Pikmin can freeze enemies and their surroundings.
Individually, Pikmin are small and vulnerable, but together they can overcome even the greatest of challenges. With their powers and some strategic skills, you can overcome all obstacles on this strange new planet. Otschin, the space dog, also accompanies you on your adventure. This trusty companion can smash through obstacles, carry heavy objects and carry Pikmin on its back. Together, nothing can stop you on your adventure!
Pikmin 4 will be released for Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2023.
