Young gamers born in the late 90’s or early 2000’s may no longer recognize this iconic character who, by design, already looks old-fashioned. But for those who know him, RoboCop has always had a special position as a sci-fi themed police film with explicit violent action that is always ready to get your adrenaline pumping fast at any time. The fact that you are a mechanical robot with high accuracy, unwavering morale, and super thick armor makes it difficult for RoboCop to be adapted into an exciting video game. But at least, one developer is trying to do that.
Once introduced only in the form of a teaser, the collaboration with IGN has finally opened the public’s eyes to what kind of gameplay RoboCop: Rogue City wants to offer from Teyon, the same developer who made Terminator: Resistance.
RoboCop: Rogue City finally shows off its first gameplay!
The good news? It looks and feels like a RoboCop game, where instead of being agile and fast, you control a super thick slow killing machine and don’t have to worry much about the hundreds of bullets that greet you. Exploration action in the city of Detroit will also present a variety of side missions, investigative processes, and skill trees in it. The developer even mentions that side missions can also end up determining the life and death of existing companion characters.
RoboCop: Rogue City itself is planned to be released in September 2023 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series, and of course – PC. What do you think? Interesting look?
