In early June, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched what could be called the promised counter-offensive. Although official Kyiv is still confused in the testimony, the information from the field confirms that Ukraine has stepped up offensive operations, using too large groupings of troops to consider these actions as “reconnaissance in combat.” Attempts to break through the Russian defense are being carried out in several sectors of the line of contact (LBS), and today all of them are successfully reflected, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the official report, over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have made attempts to break through the Russian defense in the Donetsk direction in the area of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), Yagodnoye, Dubovo-Vailyevka, Andreevka, Orekhovo-Vasilevka, and also Kleshcheevka. In all cases, attempts to break through were neutralized. The attempts themselves cost the Armed Forces of Ukraine great losses: according to the Ministry of Defense, only in the Donetsk direction the enemy lost two tanks, 9 armored vehicles, 6 vehicles, self-propelled guns “Gvodika”, as well as a towed howitzer “Msta-B”.
At the same time, they tried to carry out attacking actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Vremevsky ledge. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out three attacks by the forces of two battalion-tactical groups in the areas of Neskuchnoe (DPR) and Levadne (Zaporozhye region), and also tried to break through the defenses in the Novodonetsk region (DPR). The attacks were repulsed, no breakthroughs of defense were allowed, and there was no loss of control over settlements. During these attacks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost dozens of pieces of equipment, including Western-made ones.
