Back from the cyberpunk atmospheres of Evolutis Duality, the Guerrilla Collective 2023 offers us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the fantasy universe of Crypt Custodian, a Zelda-like metroidvania developed by Kyle Thompson.
The role-playing action adventure of Crypt Custodian narrates the deeds performed by Pluto, “a mischievous cat who has just died who is catapulted into the Palace of the Afterlife. After a brief and disastrous encounter with the Guardian of the Afterlife Kendra, Pluto is banished from the mansion and sentenced to clear the surroundings of Kendra’s offices of monsters… forever!”.
Between one battle and another, our intrepid (and reckless) alter-ego will be able to make friends with all the ghosts who live outside the building after being exiled: during the adventure we will have to listen to their stories and find out what drove them to face eternal exile from the palace.
Like any self-respecting Zelda-like, Kyle Thompson’s new metroidvania will naturally also be full of puzzles, epic bosses and settings full of weapons, power-ups and new abilities to unlock and combine to access the most dangerous areas of the map.
