In these hours a gameplay video of Final Fantasy IX Memoria Project, unofficial fan remake of FF9 has been released… but instead the real remake, does it exist or not?
Jeff Grubb has heard that the remake of Final Fantasy 9 exists and the same goes for other journalists and insiders including a famous leaker of the Persona series. Gematsu’s is now added to the chorus of voicesan absolutely reliable source who claims to have “acknowledged that a remake of Final Fantasy 9 produced by Square Enix is currently in development.”
Presumably, Gematsu contacted his sources and received confirmation of the existence of the Final Fantasy 9 remake, but at the moment there are no other details on the matter. Some are hoping Square Enix can spill the beans at tonight’s Summer Game Fest but it seems unlikely, the next communication appointments of the Japanese publisher will probably only concern Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
It is not clear if Final Fantasy 9 will be PS5 exclusive, on this aspect there is a lot of controversial information between those who speak of a total exclusive, those who opt for a temporary exclusive and those who instead only mention a possible exclusive linked to marketing.
