EA SPORTS brings Josh Allen to NFL 24, and new Character Skeleton technology adds realism.
Electronic Arts and EA SPORTS today announce EA SPORTS Madden NFL 24, bringing even more depth, control and realism to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC thanks to the next evolution of FieldSENSE and new Character Skeleton technology.
Character Skeleton technology takes NFL realism to the next level by altering the character’s skeleton, allowing for more body definition and variation in physique types on the field. It makes characters more human and anatomically correct, offers more realistic player movements and, thanks to FieldSENSE, offers lifelike movement patterns on the field.
Numerous improvements to football fundamentals improve the football experience in Madden NFL 24. Additionally, the return of the fan-favorite Superstar mode and mini-games (on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) offer new ways to learn and play the game to play.
Thanks to crossplay support and feature parity on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in head-to-head mode and certain online multiplayer modes, fans can play with friends regardless of their platform for the first time.
“We’ve made history over the past year with FieldSENSE and strong sales for the Madden NFL franchise, and we’re even more focused on the areas where our fans want the most improvement in Madden NFL 24,” said Mike Mahar, Senior Producer from Madden NFL. “We’ve added additional ways to play with mini-games and Superstar mode, and we’ve also been able to increase realism thanks to FieldSENSE. We’ve also added even more immersion through numerous fundamental football improvements and the introduction of Character Skeleton technology – these numerous changes bring the game closer to what fans experience in the NFL.”
Buffalo Bills fans have something to celebrate because quarterback Josh Allen becomes the first Bills player to be on the cover of a Madden NFL title. Allen is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league, holding the NFL record for the number of touchdowns over five career seasons (177), making him the top quarterback for passes and touchdowns in Madden NFL 23.
“As someone who has been a Madden NFL fan since childhood, I am honored to be the first Buffalo Bills player to be featured on the cover. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my team and the Bills Mafia,” said Josh Allen. “Superstars and mini-games are back in Madden. I’m really excited to see how the fans will take to improving these gameplay elements.”
Madden NFL 24 PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC gameplay is more realistic thanks to FieldSENSE enhancements that provide better control when throwing, catching and tackling, as well as Character Skeleton technology that allows for better body definition and the making movements smoother. Other improvements available for these platforms include:
Hit Everything: New tackles on contested balls offer more control when controlling the receiver, as well as new tackle types such as: wrap tackles, scoop tackles and the all-new hit stick animations add personality and variety to the defense. Dynamic branching technology is now extended to blocking as well.
Skill-Based Passing: Skill-based passing makes throwing and catching smoother. A revised catch system ensures that the receivers maintain their momentum when catching the ball. It feels better than ever to hit a receiver on the run, giving you more post-catch control to break away and move down the field. A variety of new passing and catching animations deliver the authenticity players have come to expect – dive catches, no-look passes, and various game-changing moments never before seen in Madden.
Football Basics: Improvements in blocking, ball-carrier pathfinding, quarterback decisions, and defensive back behavior not only give you the confidence that your AI teammates are executing your game plan the way you envision it, but also offer an authentic challenge. A brand new post-play engine brings the emotions of an NFL game to life through more realistic reactions and even more emotional celebrations and frustrations.
Superstar-Modus: Superstar returns with modern versions of popular experiences like Adventure Through The NFL Combine and The Road To The Draft. New features like the 3v3 Superstar Showdown give fans the opportunity to live out their NFL fantasies with friends.
Minigames: Test your skills in a variety of new mini-games with moving obstacles and destructible targets in the Franchise Training Camp, or in weekly strategies playable in Superstar mode from the main menu each week.
Franchise: One of Madden NFL’s most popular modes now offers more depth to key community desires such as contract restructuring, trade improvements, and more customization options, to name a few. Also, mini-games are making a comeback with Training Camp and Weekly Training.
