As a finale at yesterday’s Summer Game Fest, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will now launch in early 2024, having previously been planned for winter 2023. The game will apparently also be quite extensive, spanning two thick PS5 Blu-rays. Coinciding with the confirmation of the new release timeline and 2-disc size, below is a new gameplay trailer that showcases some of the mysterious story elements, combat, and sprawling world of FF VII Remake’s second chapter.
“We are honored to release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to players around the world early next year. In the next part of this exciting story, Cloud and his friends – both new and returning – will embark on a new adventure so that all players can enjoy this story, even those unfamiliar with the previous title or the original Final Fantasy VII ‘ said producer Yoshinori Kitase.
“The entire team has worked with love and reverence for the world of Final Fantasy VII to offer new adventurers and long-time fans an unforgettable experience that sets new standards in cinematic narrative, gripping and fast-paced combat, and rich exploration in a vast world ‘ Kitase continued. “We can’t wait to reveal more details later this year.”
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2024.
