Asymmetrical multiplayer horror and social deduction are coming together in Deceit 2, and as revealed during the Summer Future Games Show demo, you can play the beta right now by signing up to Deceit.gg.
The events take place in Millhaven Asylum, where a previous occult ritual left a dark legacy that has now been uncovered by a group known as Truth Seekers Anonymous. Six to nine players are trapped in the hideout, so they must work together to complete tasks and solve the mystery to escape, but there’s a catch – two of them have been infected and are trying to sabotage their efforts.
Infected players can activate Altars of Blood all over the map, and if they activate enough of them, reality will collapse and everyone will be moved to the Broker. In this parallel dimension, the Infected gain considerable powers, so innocent players must avoid them while mind-blowing horrors warp the landscape around them until they can eventually return to the real world again.
Outside of the Broker, observation and deduction are the key to unmasking the Infested in your ranks, and if you identify one of them, they can be attacked to initiate a banishing ritual that will banish them. However, you must be sure that your instincts are correct, as attacking an innocent player will only reduce the size of your squad and tip the odds in favor of the Infected even more.
Deceit 2 will be released later in 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox with cross-play support on all platforms. PC players can download and play the beta now by visiting deceit.gg.
