Paradox showed off a short gameplay video of how jobs will work in Life by You as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase. Studio marketing director King Choi showed a sneak peek of a day at work with one Life by You man, a barista named Harley.
We start by following her to the coffee shop where she works, where she will need to complete several tasks before finishing her work day. This includes cleaning the display cases where the cakes are kept. From the looks of it, customers will inspect the closet itself before picking up treats.
We already know that the Sims competitor will let you create your own careers and jobs for your Sims when it launches in Early Access in September. According to Paradox Tectonic head and Sims veteran Rod Humble, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of careers, such as retail and white-collar jobs, but you can do whatever you want if that’s not available.
Along with job creation tools, there will also be other customization tools such as an assembly tool, an object editor tool, and a dialog maker tool. Paradox Tectonic also confirmed that there will be no loading screens in the game.
During the presentation of the Future Games Show, we were also reminded that Life by You will also support mods.
“The creator tools, as well as the editors you can play with in our game, will allow you to get your hands on the same gaming tool that our game team uses to create the game to create your own custom content and mods,” King says. Choi.
Life by You will release in Early Access on September 12, 2023 and will be playable on PC via the Epic Game Store and Steam.
