In addition to having reiterated that PlayStation Plus will not offer exclusives on day one as Xbox Game Pass does, Nick Maguire, vice president and global head of subscriptions at Sony, revealed that the Japanese company is “pleasantly surprised” regarding the trend of subscriptions Of PlayStation Plus Premium.
The highest tier of service offered by Sony to PlayStation platform owners has a higher number of subscriptions than PlayStation Plus Extrasomething the company didn’t think it could achieve.
“Personally I was surprised that Premium is a larger share than Extra. We all thought Extra would be the first place most people would head, but Premium actually turned out to be more popular and bigger,” reveals Maguire.”It’s a pleasant surprise. And I’m surprised how similar things are from country to country, from region to region. There are clearly some exceptions but, overall, the top 10 and top 20, with some different orders, are generally the same across countries. There are some where they prefer different titles, but on average the mix is very similar.”
