The search for used electric vehicles in Brazil registered a 300% increase in the last 12 months, suggesting an increasing interest in this category. The data are in a survey released on Thursday (15) by Olho no Carro.
According to the vehicular consultation platform for individuals, the movement in the domestic market follows a global trend. That is, buyers have been looking for an alternative to conventional models, keeping an eye on electric and hybrid cars.
So far this year, 8,423 used electric vehicles have been sold, according to the National Federation of Associations of Automotive Vehicle Dealers (Fenauto), which means a 98% increase compared to the same period in 2022. By December, the expectation is for the sale of 17,000 electrified semi-new vehicles.

Despite this, sustainable models are not yet a reality in the country, unlike what happens in the US and Europe. “In these markets, electrified vehicles are more accessible and there are incentive policies that often make consumers even prefer greener cars”, observed the co-founder of Olho no Carro, Yago Almeida.
Most Wanted Used Electrics
According to the report, prices for semi-new electric vehicles start at R$ 100,000, considering the simplest versions. The high value makes access impossible for the average Brazilian consumer, even with these models showing reduced expenses with electric recharge and maintenance, in addition to other advantages.
Among users who do research on the platform, the most popular used electric cars are the Caoa Chery iCar, with an average price of R$131,000, and the Renault Kwid E-Tech, which costs around R$134,000. The JAC E-JS1 also appears on the list, selling for R$136,000.
With a higher price, around BRL 316,000, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is another model that appears in the top positions of the ranking. The compact SUV has advanced specifications and can run more than 400 km on a single charge.
