A first, private online stress test for the upcoming “Mortal Kombat 1” will take place this weekend. Some scalpers try to peddle their access to the free trial period on relevant platforms at exorbitant prices.
This weekend there will be a first, limited online stress test for the upcoming reboot “Mortal Kombat 1”. Interested parties could register for the test beforehand on the game’s official website. In the test, the servers of the beating game are to be put through their paces.
However, registering for the test does not mean that you are allowed to take part. A few players were selected from among the registrations for the test phase. Some scalpers are now taking advantage of this fact and auctioning off their access to the test phase at horrendous prices.
Scalpers sense quick money with online stress tests
Those who have been selected for the stress test can also participate free of charge this weekend from June 23, 2023 to June 25, 2023. The scalpers are betting that fans who weren’t selected for the test would pay a lot of money just to get a taste of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 themselves.

Unfortunately, this assumption even works in some cases. An auction on Ebay that offered access to the stress test on the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 platforms recently ended. After 28 bids, the code went for a whopping $810. Other scalpers are offering their codes for as little as $1,000. Some such auctions can still be found on Ebay even now, on the last day of the online stress test.
