Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the most successful films of the year. We have not only reported on the success of the film, but also on the canceled release in the United Arab Emirates or technical problems. But even a few weeks after the sequel’s theatrical release, the headlines don’t seem to stop. Finally, a message is currently making the rounds, according to which several visits to the cinema may be worthwhile. You may encounter spoilers in the rest of this article if you haven’t seen the second Spider-Verse movie yet.
Multiple versions of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Since the theatrical release, fans had noticed that some scenes didn’t seem to match other people’s viewing experiences. Comicbookmovie cites a dialogue between Lyla and Spider-Man 2099 as an example. While Lyla takes a selfie with the futuristic Spider-Man in one version of the scene, this part is missing in another version of the film.
Kotaku names many other differences that have been noticed bit by bit in the last few weeks. So dialogues of different characters were exchanged or slightly adjusted again and again. With Andy Leviton, an editor of the strip has officially confirmed that at least two different versions of the film are currently showing in cinemas. “I was wondering when people would notice,” Leviton tweeted. However, Comicbookmovie emphasizes that this could appear somewhat questionable under certain circumstances.
Finally, is currently also about bad working conditions reported during the production of Across the Spider-Verse. Accordingly, some fans may be a little surprised at such decisions. It is also currently unclear to what extent the changes mentioned go hand in hand with the technical upgrade of the film in terms of sound.
