Proof of this is with the Oppo Reno 8 Pro, a flagship killer released last year and sporting a neat design for a starting price of 799 euros. Of the three ranges of smartphones in Oppo’s catalog, the Reno are the ones with the best value for money. They take up the characteristics of Find X, but make sure to display a more contained price. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is one of the latest models that we had the opportunity to test last year, despite some shortcomings for a so-called “Pro” smartphone, it is nonetheless interesting, especially with this 55% discount at Boulanger during these summer sales.
Remember that even if all the signs point to an exit of Oppo from the French market, the brand’s smartphones will continue to operate normally.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro at the best price?
A smartphone that has a good back
With this Reno 8 Pro, Oppo is betting a lot on appearances, you just have to look at its back to understand. This one is devoid of a photo block strictly speaking, but of a leveled surface, the Chinese manufacturer speaks of a monocoque design and a forged glass back, this same back is adorned with a glossy rendering making a lot of effect, but which immediately picks up fingerprints. The grip is pleasant, despite its materials, the smartphone does not slip from the hands. It also doesn’t forget to be resistant to the elements with its IP54 certification.
On the other side, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro sports a 6.7-inch Amoled panel with Full HD + definition (2412 x 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen is also HDR10 + certified to to give you a brighter, contrastier and more detailed image. Our test confirms it, this screen is very well calibrated in terms of brightness and colorimetry. For autonomy, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro is able to last a day and a half, but the most satisfactory remains the 80 W recharge capable of refueling in about 30 minutes.
Convincing despite some shortcomings
The Oppo Reno 8 Pro runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC paired with 8GB of RAM, virtually expandable up to 11GB. For multitasking and basic use, this smartphone does well, but when it comes to gaming with 3D games, it will not escape some slowdowns, which is a shame since the competition does better in this field. Similarly for the software part, ColorOS based on Android 12 is very pleasant to use, but here only benefits from two years of software monitoring (one year now).
For its photo part, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro has three rear sensors: a main sensor of 50 Mpx (f / 1.8), an ultra wide-angle of 8 Mpx (f / 2.2) with a field of vision of 112° and a macro sensor of 2 Mpx (f / 2.2). For a smartphone at 800 euros, it’s light… The main sensor manages when the right light conditions are met, but the ultra wide-angle lacks rigor in terms of sharpness, and the macro sensor and the night mode are downright disappointing.
