Bethesda keeps shouting it from the rooftops: Starfield will be the biggest game in its history and given what has been announced, we take it at its word. Moreover, the weight of the title has just been revealed and indeed, it is… massive.
For maximum pleasure
Bethesda has never minced words about Starfield: years and years in the making, this space-opera role-playing game aims high, very high and simply announces itself as the biggest RPG ever made by the studio who has already laid imposing titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4 or Fallout 76.
No doubt, with no less than 1000 planets to explore and all space to search, we clearly expect to spend hundreds of hours of play and this epic will begin on September 6 on PC and Xbox consoles. If you are really very impatient, know that it is already possible to download the software on your machine while waiting for the launch, in two months. Granted, the app will taunt you about your menu the whole time, but then you can launch the game when the time comes.
The weight of the galaxy
This pre-download also lets you know how much Starfield weighs and yes, it’s a beautiful baby: it actually requires 125 GB of storage space. That’s it: anyone who has a small hard drive or SSD (hello to all Xbox Series S owners!) may have to make room before starting the download. Moreover, we are not immune toa potential day one update, very massive too.
We also recall that Matt Booty from Xbox promised a game less buggy than all the others from Bethesda. “We have an awful lot of people internally who play Starfield, who work with Todd and the team. I see the number of bugs and from the numbers, if it came out today, Starfield would already have less bugs than every Bethesda game ever released.” What reassurance after the Redfall disaster last May?
We therefore meet on September 6 on PC and Xbox: it will be possible to buy the game in the traditional way or to enjoy it through the Xbox Game Pass (or PC Game Pass, it depends). And yes, it will be a pure Microsoft exclusive, so don’t expect to see the game land on PlayStation or Nintendo!
