The first US testers, such as the two well-known YouTube channels from Gamers Nexus and JayzTwoCents, have already been able to get their hands on AMD’s smallest “imposter” to date, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, with its six Zen 3 processor cores and the additional 64 MiByte 3D V- Cache, and compare the smallest among AMD’s gamer-focused “dedicated” gaming CPUs to AMD’s and Intel’s processors.
The Ryzen 5 5600X3D tickles the Ryzen 7 5800X3D
Sometimes the air gets pretty thin even for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and so it can happen that the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, which has two cores and a clock speed of 100 MHz compared to its big brother, was able to tickle this every now and then. In the tests by Gamers Nexus, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D distances itself from the Ryzen 5 5600X without 3D V-Cache by 10 to 40 percent, depending on the game, and in some cases even almost reaches the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Steve Burke calls the Ryzen 5 5600X3D a “usable leftover recycling”, alluding to the fact that these are damaged and partly defective dies of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. In terms of power consumption, the smallest Zen 3 CPU with 3D V-Cache placed around 7 watts above a Ryzen 5 5600X and around 34 watts below a Ryzen 7 5800X3D in the Blender benchmark, which also renders more with two processor cores.
The power consumption of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D in the 3D graphics suite Blender Source: Gamers Nexus YouTuber JayzTwoCents also said after his gaming benchmarks and productivity test, “I think I underestimated the Ryzen 5 5600X3D!” and also noted the very high gaming performance of the new CPU.
Ryzen 5 5600X3D beats Ryzen 5 7600 in games
The YouTuber was also impressed by the performance compared to a newer Zen 4 CPU, the Ryzen 5 7600, which is sometimes clearly beaten.

The two tech YouTubers come to a positive conclusion overall and see the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D as a good upgrade CPU for gamers who, for example, come from a Ryzen 5 1600, 2600 or 3600 with and without an X suffix.

PCGH had already reported about the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D three weeks ago and the rumors have been confirmed, as was to be expected.
Ryzen 5 5600X3D releases today exclusively in the US
A US retailer has already included the CPU in its shop and says it will be available starting today. The Ryzen 5 5600X3D is available for purchase exclusively in Micro Center’s physical stores and online store and will not be available for purchase outside of the United States because the number of (partially) defective dies would not be sufficient for a global launch of the processor.

Below the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which also has many friends within the PCGH community and can be found in the PCGH price comparison from 289 euros, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D will be the inexpensive entry into the world of Zen 3 CPUs with 3D V- display cache. Unfortunately not in this country, at least not without detours.
