Christopher Nolan’s new film about one of the fathers of the atomic bomb opens in theaters on July 20.
If the director Christopher Nolan is known for something, apart from his film endings open to reflection, it is for his little attention to the love stories between his characters. However, it seems that the director wanted to take a turn in his career with his new film, Oppenheimer, which hits theaters on July 20.
Well, as he himself confessed in an interview with Wired, the tape about the inventor of the atomic bomb, is the most romantic of his career, as “the love stories between the characters and the affection shown between them is the most meaningful I’ve ever done.” And not only that, because the film will also show shots of its protagonists completely naked.
This has been revealed by Cillian Murphy himself in an interview with The Guardian in which he has revealed that Oppenheimer contains “long shots of full nudes” of the protagonist with his ex-wife, played by actress Florence Pough, as well as “pretty wild” sex scenes between Murphy and Emily Blunt, who plays his wife in the film.
“But I can’t tell anything else because they have instructed me not to tell anything at all,” the actor acknowledged in the interview, who also has admitted that the sex scenes with Blunt were some of the most difficult moments of shooting the Oppenheimer.
The irresistible chemistry between Murphy and Blunt
Although Cillian Murphy admits that he does not understand the chemistry tests between actors that are done before starting a movie, he does admit that with actress Emily Blunt he could almost feel that connection. “They put two actors in a room in front of the producers and the director and watch to see if the spark strikes.”
“It may seem stupid, but sometimes that chemistry is born and nobody knows why.” This is precisely what happened with Florence Pugh and, especially, with Emily Blunt shooting Oppenheimer. “You can be immediately vulnerable and open up. There were moments where I told him, “I couldn’t have done this scene if it wasn’t with you.”
