AMD is preparing to release not only video cards based on the Navi 32 GPU, but also a new model of the Radeon RX 7900 series. According to the ITHome web resource, the device is called the Radeon RX 7900 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) and will be exclusive to the Chinese market. By the way, in the past AMD offered gamers from China the Radeon RX 590 GME (Golden Mouse Edition).
The basis of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card will be a stripped-down version of the AMD Navi 31 GPU. It is expected that it will receive 80-84 Compute Units, as well as a 256-bit memory bus through which the GPU will interact with a 16 GB GDDR6 buffer. Other characteristics, unfortunately, remain unknown. The same applies to the recommended price and the exact release date.
We remind you that AMD’s upcoming releases include Radeon RX 7700/7800 class 3D accelerators based on the Navi 32 core. Their official announcement should take place in the second half of August at Gamescom 2023.
