In August 2023, more games will be removed from the Extra and Premium PlayStation Plus libraries. An overview published today reveals which games have to go.
The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Libraries were added some PS4 and PS5 games todaywhile other titles have been removed from the libraries. Such withdrawals are not abrupt, but are usually flagged up a month in advance.
So it is now knownwhich games from the Extra and Premium libraries will be removed in August. In the coming month, “Borderlands 3”, three “Yakuza” games and “The Crew 2” will be hit, among other things, as the following overview shows.
These PS Plus games will be removed from Extra and Premium in August:
Borderlands 3 (PS5, PS4) Nidhogg (PS4) DCL – The Game (PS4) Yakuza 0 (PS4) Yakuza Kiwami (PS4) Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS4) GRIP (PS4) The Crew 2 (PS4) 8-Bit Armies (PS4) ) Carmageddon: Max Damage (PS4)
Players have until August 15, 2023 to get involved with the games mentioned before the “free access” ends. This distinguishes the Extra and Premium libraries from the games that are awarded monthly via PS Plus Essential. Once these have been added to the personal PSN library, they will remain there permanently.
PS Plus dates for August 2023
It’s not just games that will be taken out of libraries in August. There will also be new additions to other titles. The dates for the announcements and unlocks aren’t too much of a secret as, with very rare exceptions, Essential tier games unlock on the first Tuesday of each month and are announced on the Wednesday of the previous week. In the next two weeks it will be the turn of the extra and premium games to be announced and unlocked.
This results in the following presumed dates for PS Plus in August 2023:
