Google is testing a new AI feature for the Meet app through Workspace Labs.
If the feature has already been deployed and is available in their region, the user can set an AI-generated background behind them, as in this illustration.
The background replacement feature is not new and can help users who don’t have a dedicated video conferencing space. However, in Google Meet it will be possible to create your own topic according to the description. You need to enter a hint, for example, “Luxury living room interior” or “Magical sunny forest glade.” The interface will offer several options, one of which must be selected as the background.
We remind those interested that the Google Workspace Labs program is intended for testing, therefore, we are not talking about confidentiality: “Reviewers can read, comment on and process the data received,” reports The Verge. If it’s important, it’s best to wait for a full feature release for everyone.
Aroged previously reported that Google Meet has support for 1080p video calls, but only for Workspace and Google One subscribers.
