07/21/2023 at 1:15 p.m. by Alexander Pensler – Sons of the Forest received patch 08 in quick succession, which among other things introduces electric fences. After that, a hotfix was released that fixes minor errors.
The last patch for the survival horror hit Sons of the Forest was released almost a month ago, which mainly brought visual improvements and bug fixes. Patch 08 is now ready for the game, which introduces a new component with the electric fences. There are also some changes to the golf cart and a new opponent in the endgame.
Patch 08 brings electric fences and golfer carts for 4 players
The list of changes in Patch 08 for Sons of the Forest is long: the electric fences already mentioned are coming into play, and the golf cart now has headlights and can be equipped with up to 4 people. Nothing seems to stand in the way of enjoyable trips in the golfer’s cart through the wilderness.

On top of that there is a new footage video, a new (old) opponent for the endgame, a hokey-pokey trap and much more. According to the developers of Endnight Games, game crashes should now occur less frequently, since code optimizations and lower memory consumption were implemented with patch 08. In addition, the number of raids will be reduced if many opponents have been defeated beforehand. However, the developers are asking for community feedback on this enemy balance adjustment.
Hotfix with minor corrections
A hotfix followed shortly thereafter, fixing bugs introduced with Patch 08. The developers fixed a bug that caused previously used golf carts to become unusable in saved games. Another fix addresses an issue where corpses were occasionally visible in inventory. The newly introduced electric fences were also affected by a bug: the hotfix fixes that in some cases it was no longer possible to power lights and fences via cables.
