Uncharted has been able to give to the fans PlayStation grand adventures, engaging stories and charismatic characters throughout its long-running series that began in 2007 on PlayStation 3. In that year the players got acquainted with Nathan Drakegetting ready to get to know one of the most popular and loved brands of Naughty Dog.
Between the main series and spin-offs, there are currently six Uncharted games released on consoles Sony (without forgetting the Uncharted L’Eredità dei Ladri collection also arrived on PC), substantially all of excellent quality according to the averages reported on Metacritic. But there are some episodes that stand out over the others, establishing themselves among the best PlayStation exclusives made to date. So let’s find out which are the most beautiful Uncharted and the least successful ones through a special ranking:
6 – Uncharted The Golden Abyss
Prequel to the series released exclusively PlayStation Vita, Uncharted The Golden Abyss tells us about Nate’s adventures in search of the lost city of Quivira. Despite an impressive technical sector and the use of all the features of the Sony portable console, the game appears very similar to what was seen in the PS3 games and adds nothing to what was seen in the main series. It is no coincidence that it is the chapter with the lowest Metascore, still an excellent one 80.
5 – Uncharted The Lost Legacy
The standalone expansion of Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End for the first time he does not see Nathan Drake as the protagonist: he is the protagonist Chloe Frazeraccompanied by the mercenary Nadine Ross on an expedition to India in search of Zanna di Ganesh. Uncharted The Lost Legacy resumes the mechanics of the fourth episode and experiments with some new ideas for the series, such as an open world-style phase during the campaign that leaves the player the freedom to move as he sees fit. Apart from this, there are no further innovative ideas, but this has not prevented the game from taking home a metascore equal to 84.
4 – Uncharted Drake’s Fortune
The progenitor of the Naughty Dog series was one of the first weight exclusives for PS3. An intriguing Action/Adventure TPS, with captivating atmospheres thanks to the splendid audiovisual setting on a remote island, the scene of Nathan’s journey towards the mysterious The Golden. On Metacritic it is 88 the overall average, a sign of how the brand immediately started off on the right foot.
3 – Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception
average of 92 for the third installment of the series, unanimously considered an excellent product that best concludes the adventure of Nate and his companions on PS3. Here too there is a lost city to be found, The wrath of the god Pilasterlost across the desert of Rub’ al-Khalifor a story that offers some of the most iconic moments of the saga (remember the daring fights on the plane flying over the desert?). Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception it may not be the best game of the brand, but it sure was one of the best games for PS3.
2 – Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End
Nathan Drake’s latest adventure is also the one with the darkest and most emotionally heartfelt atmospheres: together with his newfound brother Sam Drakethe two set out in search of the pirate’s immense treasure Henry Averyfacing daring events and discovering incredible scenarios. Uncharted 4 has a more marked cinematic cut than its predecessors and an even stronger focus on narrative, but it proves to be excellent in every component, both playful and technical. The average of 93 on Metacritic confirms that we are facing one of the best tests ever for Naughty Dog.
1 – Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
One of the greatest masterpieces of the PS3 era, evolution and improvement of what the progenitor did in practically every aspect. Uncharted 2 Among Thieves sees Nathan Drake travel to Tibet in an attempt to resurface the forgotten city of Shambhalameanwhile facing the army of mercenaries led by the criminal Zoran Lazarevic. Longer running, more varied, much more spectacular and with an even more frenetic pace, Uncharted 2 confirms itself as the best game in the series thanks to the resounding average of 96 recorded at the time of its publication in 2009. Who knows if a possible future Uncharted for PS5 will be able to do even better than the second chapter.
