Sony has announced that Sea of Starsone of the most awaited indie games of these months, will be available on day one within the catalog of PlayStation Plus Extra e Premiumtherefore downloadable directly on August 29th by subscribers to the two upper tiers of the Sony PlayStation service, with demo available today.
This is a curious situation because Sea of Stars was announced as available on day one also on Xbox Game Pass, therefore it can be downloaded “for free” by subscribers to one or the other service (or both), demonstrating how the team, evidently, has decided to widely support this type of distribution.
Sabotage Studio therefore demonstrates its willingness to gladly embrace the new future centered on subscription services, launching its promising indie game both on Xbox Game Pass and on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, in both cases available in the catalogs starting from August 29, 2023, or on day one of the game.
Sea of Stars, un interessante “JRPG” indie
Sea of Stars, an image from the game
Sea of Stars is considered by many to be one of the most interesting indie games of 2023, especially as regards the RPG genre, especially in the Japanese-inspired and classically defined declination JRPG.
The intention of the team is to recover the tradition of this sub-genre and revive it with new game mechanics: among these stands out the diversity of situations that you can be in during Sea of Stars. Even simple exploration can present unexpected challenges and situations, which significantly vary the action.
There are also adventure-style puzzles to solve and a remarkable interaction with the scenarios and NPCs, as well as a turn-based combat system that mixes classic elements with other decidedly pioneering ones. Last March we got to try Sea of Stars, but starting today you can too because the demo is available to everyone.
