Fort Solis is preparing to land on PS5 and PC on August 22, with a luxury cast (led by Troy Baker) and a harrowing proposal on Mars.
Clearly inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey or Moon, in a few weeks it arrives Fort Solis, a science fiction thriller set on Mars, the red planet. Will it be a mere appetizer before Starfield? Or can it be one of the covers of the year?
we will know next August 22, which is the date chosen for Fort Solis. It will be available on PC and as a temporary PS5 exclusive on consoles (they have already said it will come out later on Xbox).
Fort Solis is an adventure based on suspense, dialogues and plot. There are no aliens, no automatons, and no cosmic entity that threatens us. But nevertheless, the tension does not leave its atmosphere in any moment.
This thriller stars a doctor and an engineer. Wyatt Taylor (Troy Baker) y Jack Leary (Roger Clark) They will investigate a space station abandoned to its fate.
What mysteries await us at Fort Solis? At the moment we do not know much, except that there will be many puzzles, a very careful script, and even the use of a vehicle.
Gameplay of Fort Solis, the suspense on Mars
Through IGN and exclusively, we can see the first full gameplay of Fort Solis. It’s basically what we expected, but there’s a tension that’s difficult to explain at all times.
The facility that Wyatt and Jack tour is empty, or so it appears. There are no monsters stalking us, but something seems wrongand of course the unhealthy atmosphere is a given.
What we see in the gameplay is that Fort Solis builds its tension with each action of the character. We are going through each area of the station, soaking up the history thanks to the terminals that we will be building.
Sometimes, we will have to press different combinations of buttons. For example, to climb a ladder (both rear triggers), or to hack a locked terminal.
There isn’t much that surprises us in the gameplay, but it was what we expected. Fort Solis aims to be one of those games that redefines what is known as ‘‘walking simulator”.
In addition to Troy Baker and Roger Clark, Fort Solis features JUlia Brown as Jessica Appletonwhich will basically be our guide at all times.
Fort Solis looks very good, and surely it is a clear objective for lovers of science fiction. It hits stores on August 22, available on PC (Steam) and PS5, both digitally and physically.
