Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have released a second trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant, revealing the identities and motivations of the new “Servants” who join the fight in the recent Grail War. The servant duo who emerge victorious from the Grail Wars receive an ancient artifact with the power to grant wishes. Fate/Samurai Remnant continues the series in Edo-period Japan, in a story centered around the young samurai Miyamoto Iori and his servant Saber. A battle between seven pairs of masters and servants is about to take place as the Wazing Moon Ritual takes place in the shadows.
The new trailer stars Archer-class servant and his master Zheng Chenggong, as well as Assassin, a gray phantom with long whip-like arms and legs that can summon snakes to his aid. Throughout the game you will also encounter very powerful masterless rogue minions, and if you bond with them you can temporarily borrow their powers. These include the spear-wielding Rogue Lancer, Rogue Archer, Rogue Rider, armored swordsman Rogue Saber and the muscular Rogue Berserker. The new game will also introduce a new gameplay element, the ‘Spirit Font Conflict’, which features a competition between enemies for ‘Spirit Fonts’ across Edo. Battles are fought on a grid, with the player attempting to acquire spirit writings from opposing strongholds through a series of moves across the map.
Fate/Samurai Remnant appears on 29. September for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
