Head coach of Prykarpattya Oleg Rypan spoke about what helped his wards to defeat Karpaty Lviv (2:1) in the match of the 2nd preliminary round of the Ukrainian Cup:
“I had information that the Karpaty were not going to Ivano-Frankivsk with the main team. But since a group of leading Prykarpattya players is now in the infirmary due to injuries, reservists had to be sent into battle, and therefore both teams were in approximately the same conditions.
In particular, Andriy Bobynets has not previously defended the gates of Prykarpattya in official matches. I believe that he, like his partners, showed himself from the best side. If, with the score 1:0 in our favor, Gleb Popchuk converted a penalty, then we could safely remove the question of the winner from the agenda, but the post played for Karpaty, and the tension disappeared only with the final whistle.
It is also worth highlighting the pupil of local football Yuriy Radulsky, who scored a double.
If we win in the 3rd round, then a team from the elite division will come to us. There are a lot of young people in Prykarpattya, and such a confrontation would bring them a lot of benefits.”
