Executive Director Evil Empire Benjamin Laulan gave an interview. The action roguelike Dead Cells was in the spotlight. We did not forget to mention the animated series based on the game, the trailer of which was released in June.
The game has come a long way and received 35 major updates. Laulan says close connection with the community has been key to success.
“If we can name a reason for the game’s success, it’s because of our community. They [фанаты] here for us, they want more, they push us to do and create more, be it content or just being creative in new ways to play, they allow us to keep doing it somehow. So it’s kind of a virtuous circle where we’re doing this for the community, and the community is here to keep playing the game. They keep telling other people to buy it. In this way the game continues to sell and this allows us, for our part, to afford a team that is completely focused on it. [Dead Cells]” said Benjamin
Each of the additions to Dead Cells is accompanied by an animated video. Fans have been asking the developers for a long time to make a full-fledged series. Benjamin shared that it is turning out to be fun and its creation is progressing well.
“So we watched a few episodes and it’s really, really fun. It’s a little different from what I originally thought, but I can’t say too much about it. It’s a good balance between exploring the world of Dead Cells and something we couldn’t imagine: a buddy movie! Lots of comedy and gags and action, of course, because this is Dead Cells, and we’re not here to wander around the castle, because at some point you need to catch a few zombies. But yes, that’s the idea. I don’t have any dates yet, but everything is going well,” shared Laulan
The release of the animated series Dead Cells should take place in 2024.
