Group video calls have recently arrived on WhatsApp. In an announcement with pomp and circumstance, Mark Zuckerberg announced on social networks the arrival of this important novelty to his direct messaging service.
But it seems that WhatsApp really wants to outwit Zoom, which became popular during the pandemic, due to its practicality in video calls. The next step for WhatsApp will be to be able to schedule group video calls in advance.
As with Zoom, it will be possible to schedule group video calls on WhatsApp
This is a feature that can be found in applications such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom itself. And it shows that WhatsApp wants to bet more and more on the business factor of this app.
The discovery, as usual, was made by WaBetaInfo experts. The feature is available in the latest Beta version of WhatsApp for Android, and allows users to schedule a call.
As you can see in the images below, the process is quite simple. The user can choose the name to give to the call that he is going to schedule, and put the date and time that he wants to make the same. Group members will be notified 15 minutes before the call begins.

For now this is a functionality only in the testing phase. But taking into account the speed with which the news has reached WhatsApp, it could be a matter of weeks before it becomes available to everyone. It should be noted that users with access to the beta version 2.23.17.7 of WhatsApp on Android can now test the novelty.
