Sony does not leave its subscribers dry even on August 15th, flooding them with 14 new games for PlayStation Plus Extra and 3 classics for Premium. The selection, almost entirely available for download starting today 15 August (with a single exception that we will see very shortly), is as always thick and varied, and although it cannot rely on big triple A appeal, it allows itself the luxury of two new titles on day-one: the first, Moving Out 2, comes out today together with all the others, while Sea of Stars will be made available to subscribers starting from August 29th.

Moving Out 2 opens the dance, which debuts on the market today 15 August, transporting players back into its “back-breaking, neck-breaking and knee-breaking” world, capable of making moving house fun too.
Under the command of the Transport and Organization Experts (PETO), you are called to transport furniture, technological objects, sinks and so on through ever more bizarre… and lethal places. Moving Out 2 also adds a cross-play online cooperative mode to the already well-tested recipe of its predecessor, to allow players from all over the world to collaborate to transport furniture from point A to point B.
Among the watched specials of the month, Sea of Stars is an old-style turn-based RPG developed by Sabotage Studio, a team that already authored the good The Messenger. Arriving in the Extra catalog immediately upon its launch on August 29, it tells of the Sons of the Solstice, two young men called to unite the powers of the sun and the moon to give life to the Magic of the Eclipse, the only force capable of defeating creatures of an evil alchemist known as the Fleshmancer.
Sea of Stars sets itself the goal of rejuvenating the founding elements of the reference genre, from storytelling to gameplay, through exploration and interactions. The combat system, for example, provides the ability to press the action button in sync with the animations: by executing the command with the right timing, you can increase the effectiveness of direct attacks on enemies or cushion incoming blows. While waiting for its arrival, you can already try Sea of Stars by downloading the free demo for PS4 and PS5 from PlayStation Store. Watch out though, Italian is not among the supported languages.
We have already talked about Dreams abundantly when dealing with the new PlayStation Plus Essential games of August, having also been added to the monthly catalog of the service’s entry plan.
We just remind you that Media Molecule’s Dreamiverse is much more than just a video game. It’s an ever-expanding universe, a suite of powerful game development tools, a forge of ideas, a digital playground… call it what you want, the fact is that with Dreams you can unleash the designer in you by creating entire video games, sculptures , paintings, music, animations and so on and so forth. While you’re at it, try Tren, a new work by Media Molecule created with Dreams tools and accessible directly in-game.
In anticipation of The Final Form, the final chapter in the Saga of Light and Darkness, Sony and Bungie offer subscribers the opportunity to catch up with the boundless narrative of Destiny 2, thanks to the expansion The Queen of Whispers, which sees the Rise of Savathûn and her Shining Hive.
Like any self-respecting expansion, The Queen of Whisperers adds a new campaign (among the most beautiful in the history of Destiny 2), a new destination and weapons, equipment, objects and missions as if it were raining. Obviously, there is also a Raid to be tackled with a close-knit group with a lot of experience. To play The Queen of Whispers it is obviously necessary to first download Destiny 2, the basic version of which is free-to-play.
After Judgment, its direct sequel also arrives in PlayStation Plus Extra: Lost Judgment. Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, this detective story puts you back in the shoes of Takayuki Yagami to investigate a seemingly perfect crime, behind which lies an intricate web of conspiracies that mock a corrupt judicial system.
Moving between Tokyo and Yokohama you have to juggle spectacular hand-to-hand combat and investigative phases, which in this sequel have been enriched with new gadgets, cunning methods of infiltration and the possibility of stealthily tracking suspects. Lost Judgment embodies the spirit of the Yakuza action era and allows Yagami to choose between three different fighting styles: Gru, fast and acrobatic; Tiger, based on brute force; the new Serpent, which allows you to disarm enemies and focus on dodges and counterattacks.
In the wake of the treatment already given to its predecessor, Destroy All Humans 2! – Reprobed modernizes the second chapter of the series while keeping its distinctive features intact, including madness and lucid irony. The story takes place exactly ten years after the events narrated in Destroy All Humans! and sees the alien Crypto-138 rule the United States of America disguised as the President. The KGB, however, has managed to discover the deception, so it launches a counter-offensive to put an end once and for all to the expansionist aims of the alien race of the Furon.
The narration, perpetually over the top and capable of entertaining all B-Movie fans, is supported by new animations and facial expressions that mark a clear step forward compared to the title from sixteen years ago. The open world mission structure feels the full weight of the years, but the wacky weapons and pyrotechnic action make up for it adequately.
Spiritual heir to Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital asks you to build a healthcare facility, manage and optimize patient and money flow, cure strange diseases, and raise the prestige of the hospital in Two Point County.
Easy said but not done, because the patients who crowd Two Point Hospital are among the most problematic ever seen, as well as suffering from strange pathologies such as the “bulb cubism headache”, the “bulb head” and the ” sautéed leather”. The machinery to be purchased, research and above all the staff, made up of personalities with unique traits who must be trained or, if necessary, fired, also play a fundamental role. The Jumbo Edition multiplies the fun by adding four huge premium expansions and two additional item packs to the base experience.
Lawn Mowing Simulator is the only simulator out there that lets you maneuver a huge assortment of real-life lawnmowers from manufacturers like Toro, SCAG, and SRIGA.
At the command of these mechanical beasts you are called upon to tend the grounds of a teeming town in the British countryside, choosing the height of the blades, measuring the load on the engine and customizing the mowers with new accessories and improvements. In Career mode you are also granted the opportunity to build a business from scratch and take it to success. The Landmark Edition also includes the Ancient Britain and Dino Safari expansions.
SpellForce 3 is a fantasy game that combines RPG elements and real-time strategy game mechanics. The world in which it is set, Eo, is in the throes of anarchy, with errant refugees seeking shelter and a rampant disease called “Bloodfire”.
It’s up to you to restore order by creating a custom hero with unique skill sets and building an army to take on immense battles. It is also essential to make new friends by assembling a diverse group of heroes and making important decisions during a 30-hour campaign, which can also be tackled in the company of friends. When you feel the need for something different, you can also try your hand at PvP.
Midnight Fight Express is a brutal isometric scrolling beat ’em up set in the criminal underworld of a corrupt metropolis. As Babyface, an ex-member of the underworld brought back to life by a mysterious AI drone, you must stop a sprawling organization from taking over the city before the sun rises.
The game by Jacob Dzwinel (who previously worked with Bungie on the DLC The Queen of Whispers and with Santa Monica as a stuntman for God of War 2018) stages a brutal and hyper-frantic dance, with street fighting techniques and of the environment that can be used as defense tools. You will know more by reading our review of Midnight Fight Express.
The following games complete the August line-up for PlayStation Plus Extra: Source of Madness, a side-scrolling action set in a Lovecraftian-inspired world, featuring rogue mechanics, procedural generation and AI machine learning; Cursed to Golf; PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night, an adventure title that allows the little ones to play as their favorite heroes (Catboy, Owlette and Gecko) in iconic locations from the series, from Mysterious Mountain to the Moon; Hotel Transylvania: Adventures of Fear, which catapults the youngest into the worlds of classic fairy tales in the company of the characters from the animated films of Sony Pictures, the famous Drac and Mavis.
I classici per PlayStation Plus Premium
• MediEvil: Resurrection | PS4, PS5
• Ape Escape: On the Loose | PS4, PS5
• Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers are entitled to three different products from the PSP generation. The first is MediEvil: Resurrection from 2005, a reworked version of the iconic progenitor of the series.
As such, it retains the gothic atmosphere and salient features of the plot, with Sir Daniel Fortesque committed to stopping the evil Zaro. Some major level structure changes and several additional sub-plots make Resurrection palatable for all fans of the MediEvil series.
We continue on the subject of remakes with Ape Escape: On the Loose of 2005, a remake of the first chapter of the simian series. Compared to the original there are numerous content additions (such as several mini-games and a new book of enemies) and changes, including widescreen support and a new control mapping.
At the time of its release On The Loose was received in a lukewarm way, since it could not rely on one of the hallmarks of the classic, namely the capture of monkeys with the second analog. It remains a very pleasant addition to the Premium catalog, which already includes the two main chapters Ape Escape and Ape Escape 2.
Last but not least, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice debuts in Premium just two months after its direct predecessor. Released in 2007, it retains the police simulator gameplay intact, inviting players to hunt down criminals by dashing in cars, trucks, tanks, speedboats and helicopters. The three new PSP classics are playable on both PS4 and PlayStation 5, all supporting up-render and rewind features, quick saves and custom video filters.
