Since the theatrical release of Thor: Love and Thunder there has always been speculation as to whether there would even be a fifth part with Marvel’s god of thunder and if so, whether Chris Hemsworth would return to his title role again. After all, Thor 4 was not so well received by many critics and many fans also didn’t like the strip much. Nevertheless, the film brought Disney a decent profit and, according to the latest information, there could now be a sequel…
Thor 5 is planned!
Accordingly, the successor to Thor: Love and Thunder (buy now) is already being planned. Director Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Day of Decision, will return. There is also some initial information about the villain. According to Waititi, he should be “significantly stronger than Hela” from the predecessor.
The information comes from the recently published book “Thor: Love and Thunder The Official Movie Special Book”, which provides insights into the background and development of Thor 4.
Theatrical release, trailer and first information
Of course, there is no trailer for Thor 5 yet, since the film is probably only in the early planning phase. And we also have to put you off about a possible theatrical release: Officially there is no information about it yet. However, we can be sure that the film will not be released in German cinemas before 2025.
After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently jam-packed with films stretching through 2027. The Marvels will be released this year, for example, and Deadpool 3, Captain America and Thunderbolts should continue in early 2024.
