Hooded Horse and MinMax Games’ historic colony sim Clanfolk, set in the Scottish highlands, is receiving its 12th major update since early access.
Building on the historical record of 14th century Scotland, the Hearth and Home update will introduce food, recipes and crops from that period, as well as new boosts from more complex recipes such as generating warmth or applying mood boosts.
New crops include cabbage, onion, beans and turnips. Each one comes with a new seed variant that can now be stored in the new “Seed Stock” or “Seed Shelf”. There’s a lot more, and more advanced recipes include the world-famous haggis, which will need to be cooked at the new cooking station – it can cook a wide variety of dishes and has 13 different visual states.
Added to all that hearty food are new quality-of-life features like item drag and drop and the usual bug fixes and tweaks. There are also 28 new historical clans, bringing the total number of named clans in the game to 70.
