A few days ago, PureDark released a new update to their DLSS 3 mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 that added DRM to it. This DRM requires paid subscription authentication, otherwise you won’t be able to use it.
It should be noted that authentication only needs to be done once. After the first authentication, the mod will not ask you to re-authenticate. What’s more, any account that subscribes to PureDark’s Patreon will be able to authenticate. In other words, active membership is not required. If you follow and then unsubscribe from Patreon, you will still be able to authenticate.
PureDark implemented this DRM in preparation for the release of DLSS 3 for Starfield. The modder knows that a lot of people will be interested in it, so he does everything to counter its illegal distribution. And what better way to protect a paid mod from piracy? Of course, add DRM.
The Starfield Early Access phase starts on September 1st, so it’s possible that the DLSS 3 mod will be available during the official launch. Ultimately, PureDark will want to capitalize on the huge demand for this modification.
