Google Flights has been around for 12 years to bring users a simple way to search for flights, by price, airline or length of trip. In a statement, Google announces that it will soon also start telling you what is the typically cheapest time to buy tickets for your next trip.
This service will be equipped with Artificial Intelligence to help users deal with price fluctuations on flights. In a statement, Google shows how the new features will work on Fligts.
Artificial Intelligence will save you money on Google Flights
Users are always asked the question: should I book the flight now or wait for prices to drop? As you can see in the image below, you will now be shown when prices are typically lowest for your dates and intended destination.
As you can see in the image above, the indication that “prices are currently high in your search” appears. The time window of when they will be cheaper is shown, as well as the amount you can save.
Users can be notified when the price of a flight drops
It is good to emphasize that users can monitor the price. When enabled, users will be automatically notified when flight prices drop significantly for their intended dates. In addition, they can also add a specific date or simply choose to receive the best prices for the next six months.
Another important point is the guaranteed price badge. This shows that Google is confident that the price will not drop further until the flight, which means you can book without any problems. If the price drops, Google will pay users the difference via Google Pay. However, this functionality is still only available in a pilot program on select flights in the United States.
Google announces that these new features are available on Google Flights later this week.
