There have been rumors of the hypothesic Little Nightmares 3 for some time. In reality, from 2021, if not impossible, it seemed highly unlikely that the IP born of Tarsier Studio would find new outlets. Thanks to the fact that Tarsier himself had divorced from the historic publisher of the series; Bandai Namco, which in the meantime had taken the rights to the horror game for itself. Only this detail has kept alive the hypothesis that proved to be correct only during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live about seven days ago.
Now, with a post on the PlayStation Blog, Maya Ziani (Bandai Namco community specialist) better illustrates what the setting and general tone of Little Nightmares 3 will be, expected soon. We return once again to Nothingness, the nightmarish world of the first two chapters. Unlike those two though, here for the first time we will not be entirely alone. We will be able to choose whether to face the new challenge in the company of a friend thanks to the online cooperative mode, or let player 2 be managed by the AI to accompany us.
“You will take on the role of Low and Alone, two lost children trying to get out of this dark world to escape from a fearsome threat that lurks in the shadows” writes Ziani in the blog post and then adds “Low and Alone are equipped with unique, which will allow you to solve different puzzles and defend yourself from the new and dangerous challenges that await you. You will be able to interact with the world using Low’s bow and arrows and Alone’s wrenchbut you’ll also need a good deal of wit, tenacity, and creativity to survive your journey through the Spiral.”
The game should be available next year on both current-gen and last-gen.
