If you think there is a choice for all tastes in the world of monitors, it’s because you haven’t looked closely at the world of gaming mice yet. Here yes! We have mice for all types of gamers, and all types of wallets, spread across hundreds of different manufacturers.
That said, today we can welcome a new high-end mouse designed for the MMO and MOBA gaming niche. Yes, we’re talking about those mice with tons of buttons on their sides, which look strange but are incredible at their mission. Make way for the Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless, the new mouse focused on this market from the components and peripherals giant Corsair, now with wireless connectivity, and of course, other interesting improvements.
(Review) Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless: Finally!
So, in case you didn’t know, there is already a Scimitar Elite on the market, the big difference is now in the wireless connectivity made using Corsair’s ultra-low latency Slipstream technology. But things don’t stop there as the buttons have optical mechanical switches as well as a new improved sensor.
What is a MOBA or MMO mouse?
Razer Naga
In short, they are mice with random buttons. A format popularized by Razer, namely with the Razer Naga.
In this case we have a mouse designed for right-handed people, with an adjustable side keyboard equipped with 12 programmable buttons. Yes, adjustable, this small keyboard can be moved on an axis to literally be in the “most handy place”. In fact, the entire mouse was designed with comfort in mind.

What can we find in the box?
Well, we can find the mouse itself, the Slipstream pen inside the mouse, and of course, a braided USB-C to USB-A cable for charging. Of course, you can use any cable for charging, but it’s undeniably good to find a 1.8m cable inside the product box.
In addition to all this, we also have an Allen key for adjusting the side keyboard. Yes, the adjustment mechanism can be tuned like a key, so nothing fails.
Design
First of all, we can say that the new Scimitar is actually very similar to all other Scimitars from Corsair. Which is not a negative thing, pay attention! The shape of this mouse has always been praised, and in my opinion, there is no room for revolutions, only for a few tweaks.
It is a mouse capable of adapting to various types of users, whether you use a “palm grip” or a “claw grip”.
The Keyboard is the prominent figure. After all, with its 12 buttons, we have a total of 16 programmable buttons from the iCUE suite. Why so many buttons? Simple! To have your favorite attacks at your fingertips, and of course, have even faster access to the ever-popular macros. It’s a mouse made with games in mind like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, Diablo, Guild Wars, etc… Or of course, MOBA games like League of Legends or Dota.
In addition to these games, this type of mouse can also be very useful for construction or strategy games such as Age of Empires or Starcraft. It will be less useful in games like CS:GO or Valorant, but even there we always have the comfort of use and quality of the components pushing us towards victory.
However, despite being comfortable, it is a heavy mouse (114g). A weight that may be an exaggeration in the eyes of many consumers, but is common for the type of games that Corsair focuses on. In addition to the weight, it is 119mm long, 73mm wide and 42mm high. It’s a big mouse!
connectivity
The big news is wireless connectivity, so let’s talk a little about that. That said, Corsair offers 3 connectivity possibilities! Cable, Bluetooth and Slipstream (USB Dongle).
Obviously, buying a wireless mouse to use a cable doesn’t make sense. Therefore, if you want performance, the answer is always Slipstream, which is a low latency technology through 2.4GHz connectivity. This means a poll rate of 2000Hz and response latency below 1ms. Interestingly, if you are interested in this, you can use this mouse via Bluetooth on one device, and via Slipstream on another device, simply by flipping the switch to control computing devices with a single mouse.
Performance
In addition to the connection quality, we have a Corsair Marksman sensor (PixArt PAW3393) with 26 thousand DPIs capable of offering a maximum speed of 650 UPS. It’s a top-of-the-range sensor, and as such, you can expect the best possible performance imaginable, whether you’re playing or working. The accuracy is incredible.
In the field of switches, we have a new development in the use of optical switches capable of withstanding around 100 million clicks, and of course, an even lower response time.
However, in terms of autonomy we have 150 hours with Bluetooth and without RGB, 120 hours with Slipstream and without RGB, and finally, around 50 hours with everything turned on at maximum.
iCUE and RGB
As usual, everything can be configured from iCUE, from the sensitivity of the sensor, as well as what each of the 16 programmable buttons can or cannot do. In addition to all this, we also have the possibility of customizing the RGB lighting.
Lighting that isn’t just found on the Corsair symbol! It is also on the side keyboard, and is therefore capable of offering a very interesting customization experience.
Conclusion
Corsair is one of the best mouse manufacturers on the planet. Something that this Scimitar Elite proves, especially given the fact that the peripheral giant doesn’t even feel the need to revolutionize the formula. It’s a new version that only changes what needed to be updated, which of course results in what is most likely the best mouse for MMO and MOBA on the market.
However, the Corisar is not cheap, so you can expect a €149.99 blow to your bill if you want this mouse. Still, it is cheaper than the most famous mouse in this niche market, the Razer Naga, which already costs €200.
