In September last year, the Internet giant Amazon abolished the referral commission for Ukrainian entrepreneurs selling goods to the EU and the UK. Then it was said that these conditions would be valid for a year – until September 7, 2023. Now it has become known that Amazon has extended the special conditions for Ukrainian business for another year – until September 2024.
A referral commission is a percentage that companies pay for each product sold on Amazon. Depending on the category of goods, the commission ranges from 7% to 17%, in most cases its size reaches 15%.
“From September 6, 2022, for 12 months, we have reduced the referral rate to 0% for all Ukrainian sellers in our stores in the EU and UK. Amazon and its employees have consistently supported Ukraine, and this support continues. Therefore, we have decided to extend the terms for the next 12 months for joining Ukrainian sellers, as well as for future marketplace sellers,” said Xavier Flamand, Vice President of EU Seller Services.
It is expected that thanks to the preservation of favorable conditions from Amazon, Ukrainian business will be able to more actively develop and scale in the international market. This will allow presenting Ukrainian products to the world and attracting new customers.
Last year, in response to an appeal from the Ministry of Digital Development, Ukrposhti, Disqover Agency and Startup Ukraine, Amazon canceled the payment of commissions for Ukrainian entrepreneurs selling goods on Amazon UK and EU. During this period, more than 50 sellers took advantage of special conditions.
