August 31, 2023 at 6:45 p.m. by Michael Miskulin – Fans of Baldur’s Gate 3’s co-op mode have long wanted to be able to join other players’ campaigns at will without having started the campaign together. Now the developers have promised a fix for this problem.
Larian Studios recently released a new community update for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam, in which the developers take a look at the future of the role-playing game. There was news about Patch 2, which delivers important performance improvements, as well as a denial of the “cut content” rumors. However, what may have been overlooked is that the team also wants to add a feature that many fans of co-op mode have wanted.
Meanwhile, co-op party members still occupy needed space
As is well known, the story campaign of Baldur’s Gate 3 can also be played with human players in co-op mode. However, so far you have to start a campaign together and players cannot jump in and out of other players’ campaigns at will. Many fans have complained about that. Fortunately, Larian Studios is now planning a suitable feature called “Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends” that should solve the problem.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Co-op party members will soon be able to be removed (1) Source: Larian Studios We remember: Withers (the Withered One) is the NPC that we can unlock in the first crypt, where the main character can be respeced during a long rest in the camp . With the new wardrobe it will then be possible to remove co-op party members who join your own campaign so that you can then continue alone. Players should then be able to enter and exit other players’ campaigns as they wish. An ironic advertising flyer from the developers states that you can simply move unwanted party members into the cloakroom and as soon as the travel fun together continues, you bring these friends out again. The team plans to implement this feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 soon.
