Regardless of the purchase of the bonus content of the Premium Edition of Starfield, i.e. the one that also includes Early Access, all players are entitled to download the bonus pre-order. Let’s find out how to manually start the download of this content, which in some cases may not install during the preload phase.
Xbox Series X|S
To download all Starfield bonuses on Xbox Series ‘My games & apps’ and locate the Bethesda game icon among the installed products (you must have completed the preload phase first). At this point, position the cursor on Starfield and press Menu to bring up a drop-down menu in which to select ‘Manage game and add-ons’. Now press A on the first of the three entries on the right side of the screen, which is the one whose size is approximately 100 GB. You will then find yourself in a new screen: in the lower part of the window you should see one or two items in the Add-ons section. The first is ‘Starfield: Old Mars Skin Pack’, i.e. the free DLC for all buyers of the game and for Xbox Game Pass users. The second is instead ‘Starfield: Premium Edition Content’, which corresponds to the bonuses of the most expensive edition of the game and could be essential for accessing Early Access. Then tick both (or just the first, if you don’t have the Premium Edition) and confirm by clicking on ‘Save changes’ on the right, so as to start the download of this content.
PC (App Xbox)
On the PC version that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, something similar is less likely to happen, since in any case the download of the extra contents should start automatically. In any case you can carry out a quick check by opening theapp Xbox of Windows 10/11 and, from the list of installed games on the left side of the window, right-click on Starfield and select Show details. Below the game description you will see the section ‘Add-on for this game’where the two contents should be: if there is no ‘Installed’ under them, click on it and then manually start the download.
PC (Steam)
To verify that all the additional content you have is correctly installed on the Valve client, you need to go to the Bookshelf and then right-click on Starfield, then select Property. In the small window that has just opened you should find the item on the left DLC, click on it and make sure that all the contents in the list are checked. If it isn’t there, click on the empty square to start the download.
