Publisher Retroware and developer Programancer have released retro side-scrolling platformer Prison City on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s a dystopian, action-packed side-scroller with carefully crafted mechanics and intricate level design. Fight techno-terrorists using chakram and grenades, eat hot dogs for health and find contacts that will help you destroy the bosses.
A group of techno-terrorists infiltrated a prison city (formerly Detroit). Outsiders quickly train criminals and supply them with weapons to create an army. Each security zone is controlled by a designated techno-terrorist overseer. Little is known about the leader of the techno-terrorists and their motives, but the group has been in power ever since. As ex-cop Hal Bruiser, fulfill the chief’s request to raid the prison city’s security zones and end the reign of the techno-terrorists.
Console ports for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/X/S and PlayStation 4/5 will be released in late September or early October.
