Some news about “Final Fantasy XVI” was announced at PAX West. They affect update 1.10 and the PC version of the role-playing game. And upcoming premium content was also discussed.
Square Enix has released update 1.10 for “Final Fantasy XVI” and confirmed that a PC version as well as paid downloadable content are in development.
The new information about Final Fantasy XVI was shared as part of Square Enix’s Voices from Valisthea panel at PAX West 2023 in Seattle. The English language cast of the role-playing game was present. Producer Naoki Yoshida made the announcements in a video message at the end of the panel. Corresponding videos are embedded below these lines.
In his speech, Yoshida stated: “As I mentioned, we have received many opinions and reactions from our Final Fantasy XVI player community. But one thing that became particularly clear was a desire to see more of Valisthea’s history and spend more time with its residents. To accommodate this, the development team has begun work on two parts of paid downloadable content.”
After “Final Fantasy XVI” initially came onto the market exclusively for the PS5, the producer also took the opportunity to confirm the ongoing development of a PC version. Production is in full swing.
But when will there be more information about the new content and the PC version? “I hope to give you more information about the upcoming downloadable content and the PC version before the end of the year, so please stay tuned,” said Yoshida.
This is what Update 1.10 offers
With the update to version 1.10, “Final Fantasy XVI” receives, among other things, some new content and features. Part of the innovations is the weapon skin function. This allows players to change the appearance of Clive’s weapon to that of any other blade in their possession, while retaining the stats of the currently equipped weapon.
Another part of the update is an alternative outfit for Clive, Jill, Torgal, Ambrosia and Joshua. Players can switch between the standard and additional options at any time and play with the one they prefer.
“I hope you will take advantage of these two new skin changing features as you continue to explore and enjoy every corner of Valisthea,” said Yoshida.
