The authors of Cities Skylines 2 have published a new video telling about the features of the game. Previously, the themes were the happiness of the townspeople and the seasons, but today the focus is on sounds and music.
A dynamic soundscape will help bring the city to life. In different areas there will be both pleasant sounds (in parks) and annoying ones (in industrial areas). Also, the sounds of people, vehicles and animals will be added to the “audio mix”.
The developers paid attention to the little things. The sound of cars will depend on their speed, and the type of siren for city services can be either European or North American. When you click on a person, a sound signal will also be played, which will reflect his age and mood.
Background sounds will follow the camera and change depending on where it is pointed. They are also influenced by the area, weather, proximity to institutions, and even the time of day—universities are full of voices during the day and quiet at night.
In addition, during the game you can turn on the radio and enjoy music of different genres and conversations of the presenters. But the radio stations will also have game mechanics – they will help convey information to people and can even prevent critical situations.
Cities Skylines 2 will be released on October 24 on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. System requirements for computers are already known, and the cities will be five times larger than the settlements from the first part.
