Chris Dring of GamesIndustry anticipates something new linked to last week’s English ranking, namely the debut in the week position of Starfield Premium Upgradewhich is a code to unlock early access to the Bethesda game.
For content of this type (a simple card with a printed code) the debut in the Top 10 is a remarkable fact, underlines Chris Dringwhich shows how many are willing to pay to play in advance of the launch date, a trend that publishers have certainly not missed and which indeed they seem to want to ride more and more.
Note how Starfield Premium Upgrade Edition does not include the full game but only the upgrade to the Premium version with early access on Game Pass, the Shattered Space expansion (when it is released), the Constellation Skin Pack, digital artbook and soundtrack, the base game must be purchased separately.
It’s not easy to predict Starfield’s impact on the UK charts since the Bethesda game has been available since day one on Xbox Game Pass, the launch of the physical version is set for September 6th so we will certainly know more at the beginning of next week, when the sales data in the United Kingdom will be released. Surely, Starfield is already making a lot of noise about itself…
