For its major projects, such as Starfield, Microsoft sometimes offers early access for the purchase of a premium edition. In the case of Starfield, you can play from September 1st if you purchase the premium edition of the game (digital or physical) or the Starfield Premium Upgrade (digital or physical). Starfield Premium Upgrade in physical form is a code that improves the base version of the game available on Game Pass, that is, it does not actually contain the game. Nevertheless, this version of the publication gained considerable popularity.
According to gamesindustry gaming analyst Christopher Dring, the Starfield Premium Upgrade version managed to take 7th place in the TOP 10 for physical edition sales in the UK last week. According to the analyst, this is an impressive result, considering that at the moment this edition is essentially a code that simply unlocks access to the game 5 days earlier.
Note that owners of the Premium edition also get access to some cosmetic bonuses in Starfield and the first DLC for the game.
