Already released in early access, Starfield is the victim of several bugs. Something that is of little importance to the Bethesda studio, which focuses on another aspect of the game.
“We embrace chaos,” Bethesda says of the bugs. It was during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz that the studio’s head of publishing, Pete Hines, spoke about Starfield’s problems. The man explains:
We could make a game that was safer, with fewer bugs, and less risky if we wanted. But what we’re trying to build on is player freedom. Yes, there will be a few little things here and there (…), but the freedom that you get and the things that happen because of that, we absolutely love and embrace.
In any case, players who were able to discover Starfield in advance, as part of early access, had to face the facts: bugs are rare. Pete Hines also expressed that the importance is mainly to enjoy the experience: “Of course, there are bugs. But does this detract from your experience? Or do you have a consistent, fun game that you can’t stop playing and experimenting with? As a reminder, all players without exception will be able to discover Starfield on Xbox Series and PC from September 6, 2023.
Already a broken record for Starfield?
Starfield comes out in just a few hours, and some lucky people have already finished it. Among others, speedrunners, including one who finished the title in less than three hours. This is the Youtuber Micrologist, who achieved the feat of finishing Starfield in exactly 2 hours, 52 minutes and 42 seconds. He also posted the video on his YouTube account. A record that will undoubtedly be broken in the future. As a reminder, Starfield is an epic in space that exceeds one hundred hours of play. As for the main quest, Todd Howard, the boss of Bethesda, estimated during an interview with IGN that it would be necessary to spend around 30 to 40 hours to play before finishing it.
