In August of this year, the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, based on the film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was released. Although the game received mostly positive reviews, it was not without criticism. One of the main disadvantages is the presence of a large number of cheaters on PC. Because of this, not only PC players suffer, but also console players, since the project supports cross-platform multiplayer.
As a temporary solution to the problem, the developers have not come up with anything better than separating PC players from everyone else. After the next patch, cross-play will only be supported between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (the feature was not initially available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One).
Fortunately, in the future, the authors of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre plan to return cross-platform multiplayer to the PC version. However, this will only happen when they make improvements to the anti-cheat system.
