On September 1, Starfield was released in early access for players who purchased the Premium edition. The game was available in Early Access, both on Xbox Series X | S and on PC, not only in the Microsoft Store, but also on Steam. Peak online play on Steam in early access for Starfield exceeded 250,000 players, and total sales of the premium edition of the game may already exceed 2 million.
Analysts at playtracker, which tracks player numbers across platforms using user samples and various statistics, reported that Starfield has surpassed 2 million players in Early Access alone. According to their estimates, more than 1 million players purchased the Premium version of the game on Steam, and approximately 1 million players played the Premium version through the Microsoft Store (by purchasing the game or upgrading the edition from Game Pass).
The full release of Starfield took place today – September 6, the game is already available in Game Pass. Bethesda itself does not currently provide any official figures on the game’s sales or the number of players.
