In 2021, the Jagex studio, known for the MMORPG RuneScape, decided to try itself as a publisher and released the isometric looter shooter Space Punks from Flying Wild Hog. The game was initially released in early access, and a year later it reached its full release. All this time, with the exception of the last few months, the developers have regularly released updates. However, this was not enough to attract a large audience.
Flying Wild Hog and Jagex issued a letter announcing the closure of Space Punks. It is reported that this decision was made after careful consideration of market conditions and objectives. The game can no longer be downloaded through the Epic Games Store, and the servers will be permanently shut down on November 6, 2023.
