Between the last big price increase and an ongoing reflection on the ban on account sharing like Netflix, Disney+ is putting itself in a delicate position vis-à-vis its subscribers. Recently, several SVOD platforms are seeking to implement more profitable maneuvers with the risk of unsubscriptions, Disney+ has understood this and seems to want to bring back its former subscribers with this back-to-school offer.

Until recently, Disney+ offered a single subscription at €8.99/month which allowed 4K UHD display on up to four screens simultaneously. From November 1, this formula will be called “Premium” and will cost €11.99/month and will be offered alongside a “Standard without advertising” formula at €8.99/month (and a version with advertising at €5.99/month) which will offer a degraded resolution and fewer screens simultaneously. Knowing that it is in a delicate situation, Disney+ is offering a back-to-school offer at €6.99/month in order to attract new customers and bring back old ones.
Why subscribe to Disney+?
A catalog of iconic franchises, from Star Wars to Marvel The ideal platform for children with the great Disney classics The best video quality at no extra cost (for now)
From today until September 20, the Disney+ subscription is available on sale at 6.99 euros per month for 3 months. After this period, unless canceled, the subscription will automatically switch to the Premium plan at 11.99 euros per month.
How to take advantage of the Disney+ back-to-school offer?
This back-to-school offer is only for new subscribers or returning subscribers who wish to resubscribe, although it is not stated how long an account must be inactive to be considered “old.” The offer is available until September 20 and is active for 3 months. After these three months and unless canceled, the subscription will automatically switch to the “Premium” plan at €11.99/month.
The back-to-school offer gives access to the same advantages as the €8.99/month plan (the one which will increase to €11.99/month on November 1), i.e. display quality in 4K and sound in Dolby Atmos format. In addition, the platform has added compatibility with the IMAX Enhanced format for its Marvel films. It is also possible to watch content on four different screens simultaneously, which can be very practical for large families.
Between great classics and US blockbusters
In terms of content, what differentiates Disney+ from other SVOD platforms? An ultra-complete catalog thanks to the numerous studios and licenses purchased by Disney, such as Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and others. In addition, Disney+ has produced a certain number of original series drawn from these licenses, for example Ahsoka, the very latest Star Wars series, or My Name is Groot, the second season of which will be released this September 6.
The catalog also includes several American series formerly broadcast by Fox such as The Simpsons, reality shows, documentaries and even shows. In other words, there is something for everyone. Of course, it is possible to find several French creations, including the latest: Antigang, the next generation.
