Forward of the Ukrainian national team Roman Yaremchuk commented on the team’s draw with the England team (1:1) in the qualification for Euro 2024.
“The most important thing was to try to take points with this opponent, because England is of a very high level, one of the best teams in the world.
We had to accept the fact that there would be a lot of work without the ball. If we had not done this, we would most likely have lost. We humbled ourselves, worked for each other and got a well-deserved point. Difficult match, a lot of work without the ball. But the positive is that we got a draw.
At the last training camp I had an injury, I missed it. Of course, now I want to show performance. But, based on reality, I’m on the right track, I’m working for the team, and the goals will definitely come. We are very grateful to the fans for the incredible atmosphere,” said Yaremchuk.
The next Euro 2024 qualifying match between the national teams of Italy and Ukraine will take place on September 12 in Milan, starting at 21:45 Kyiv time.
